Okay here's a quick rundown of the situation. My wife's older sister is having an affair. Everyone in their family (including their parents) know of this. They've tried to talk to her and reason her out of the affair but she's basically ignoring all of them. It has even reached a point where she covered up her affair by lying to her husband and family saying that all of us are trying to ruin their family. So basically her husband (our brother-in-law) and their children are mad at us to the point where they pretty much severed connections and ties to all of us. The last time we had ever spoken to them was last September. That's when the fallout between us happened. I still see him when I pick up my kids from school since their kids and our kids go to the same school. But it's obvious he still ignores me when I see him there. Now that three months have passed, should I even bother to talk or even get in touch with him and tell him about what his wife is doing behind his back??

No, stay out of it. He will find out one day and then you can be there for him. Let him know you are upset about not talking to him anymore and want to make up.

NO! Stay out of it. It is their mess to deal with and clean up. You will end up being resented for it when they reconcile. You will end up being the snitch and the one no one can trust. Stay loyal to your family, to your wife. If he ignores you, say hi anyway. He will come around when he sees that you had nothing to do with it. It is her choice to lie. You are related by marriage but you do owe your discretion to your wife. Stay out of it.

You can try talking to him, but dont mention the affair...This will make him not talk to anyone anymore...Or take pictures of the two and send them to him with a return address....
