The best kind of relationships start as friends. Cuddling with someone who you don't care about feels empty in comparison to expressing affection with someone you truly care about. Make friends and eventually one of those friendships can develop into something more.
I'm in the same situation, actually, and I feel lonely sometimes, too. One thing that helps me a lot is to invite the presence of the Holy Ghost by reading scriptures such as the Bible and the Book of Mormon. The Holy Ghost is a Comforter, so His presence helps me to not feel as lonely.
I once met an elderly man whose wife died. When I expressed my sorrow for his loss, he said something like, "That's okay. The happiness we had was worth the loneliness now." I remembered that idea and have thought about how it applies to my own life. I have hope that I will find a friend and get married in the future, so I believe that the happiness then will be worth the loneliness now. I've also prayed for patience lately, and that helps.
