Well, you want to get over a 31(based on reading comprehension, math, etc.) for starters (the higher the number the better of course), but it's the other areas on the test that will determine what jobs you will qualify for. If you're still in school, the reading and math portion should be no problem but if you have trouble in any of those areas, you could use an SAT study guide to work on them, or you can get the ASVAB study guide to work on some of the other areas as well as math and reading. Hope this helps, good luck.

I know when I enlisted a 50 or above got me a bigger bonus and a kicker(more money) for the GI bill. I'm willing to bet over an 85 will get you most jobs. A 30 I think is the minimum, but a lot of it has to do with the line scores. GT, MM, all those things you see on it. I got a 96 and have only met one or two people that have scored higher than me.

No. The total ASVAB composite ranking (AFQT) ends at ninety nine. Each line ranking is specific, your Verbal would be a 60, your mathematics a forty five, your MC a 30. Those 3 rankings would be further to provide a line ranking for a few task as opposed to the only you are watching for. For the task you are watching at - it is mathematics reasoning, automobile & keep, and mechanical. Remember that the task you desire, and the task they're going to present you the day you are swearing in at MEPS is also 2 utterly specific matters. But for those who qualify, keep on with your weapons and do not allow them to push you round. Offer to stroll out - getting a role within the army may also be alot like purchasing a automobile - they rather do not have you until you Swear in and signal at the dotted line THE DAY YOU LEAVE FOR BOOTCAMP. Sometimes they're going to perform a little swear in consultation earlier than - simply to make you suppose you are dedicated. Alot of smoke and mirrors - so be skeptical and speak to humans who've enjoy while you doubt anything. GET EVERYTHING IN WRITING - INCLUDING THE JOB YOU WANT. Hope this is helping - well good fortune!

Different branches have different standards. Army is the lowest. In the Navy, the lowest passing score is around 30. If you score above 90 you're a god damned genius and they'll try to suck you into the nuc program. There are 100 points total...I scored 83 and can get almost any job I want.

compare your score with the job you want

and thats all that matters.

people are talking about the percentile score right now. The highest is 99, which means you scored in the highest 1%. A 70% means you scored in the highest 30%. There is also a score for different categories. Check that site and you'll see.
