Your doctor could confirm it!

I'm not too sure. I think it might just be because she's new to walking, crawling or cruising. To avoid these problems I'd suggest you take the ladder down for now. She may not really know what she's doing because she is just learning. I know this isn't much help but if I were you I wouldn't be too worried!

Hello Reden,
First i would like to say to you that hand eye coordination does not finalize until a child gets through puberty. Because this is the time when the arms and legs as well as feet sprout and grow continuously. But the best thing to do would be to go and talk to an Audiologist. Because the specialize in the auditory canal as well as hearing. And the simi-circular cannals (balance bars) in the inner ear have a major role in the balance of a person. If your daughter is checked out by the doctor and he/she revels that there is nothing wrong then you would just have to work with her one on one. After all she is just 2 Yrs old right. Her motor skills ( movements) are still developing. It'll take sometime but you have to work with her she can not do it by herself. I hope that this may have helped you if not i am sorry for wasting your time.

It could just be that she is accident prone, like most children.
It could also be that her depth perception is off.
When I was a kid I would stare down at the cracks in the sidewalk and scream because to me, they looked like huge craters in the earth and I thought I would fall in them if I stepped on them.
My problem had to be corrected with numerous eye surgeries, as well as prescription eyeglasses, however I'm sure nothing with her is that serious.
If it continues or if she does react similar to what I explained above, take her to the doctor and have her checked out.

check her for lazy eye/severe farsightedness. my son was doing that type of stuff, and now he wears glasses at 4 years old. around 2 years old is when he was walking into the door frames and i took him to the eye doctor as soon as we had insurance. i'm not sure about the collapsing on the ladder though...i'd check with the pediatrician. good luck

Why are you letting your baby climb ladders? she is too little and just learning balance. Babies walk into things all the time...it's your job to keep a close eye on her and prevent that from happening. The things you describe sound very common. I would ask her doctor to check those things at her next well baby check up but I am sure she is just fine.

At that age they are very clumsey, but for your peace of mind talk to her ped about it and see what they say. They may want to do some testing just to check.
