I've asked for advice before but only got advice about sex. I am going with my fiance and was thinking about Bangkok and Phuket? Can anyone give me an itinerary or their thoughts on where to go and what to do?

Spend two days in Bangkok maximum. Then fly onwards down to Phuket.

In Bangkok check out the Grand Palace, take a river tour on a longtail boat, go shopping in MBK and window shopping in Siam Paragon (unless you want to buy a Ferrari), see the Jim Thompson house, Chatuchak market on the weekend, and eat at Mahanaga in the evening.

In Phuket Patong beach is the most built-up but the beach is still quite nice. It looks corny but I recommend the Phuket Fantasea show- it's actually quite good. Also recommend taking some of the day trips like for example the James Bond island, muslim village, egg island, etc speedboat tours.

Have fun!

Hi, you do not give too much info as yo how long you plan to stay at each destination and what knid of activities you would like to do. For starters, in Bangkok, just sightseeing will take a couple of days. To add in shopping, massages, eating, and others could be another few days. SO to enjoy Bangkok, you will need almost 5 days alone.

Going to phuket and just enjoy the scenery and place, this will depend on how many more days you have left to spend. What you can do there, there are many advices already. Look at www.tourismthailand.org for more info on the 2 cplaces to get an idea of what you can do.

Have fun.

Phuket has great beaches and has tons of beach activities such as sailing or snorkeling. I recommend you try that.

Bangkok has temples, museums, culture, entertainment and lots of other things to do. First think about your interests then make an intenerary. There is lots to do.

I would spend more time in Phuket because I like to avoid big cities when I am on holiday and it is a beautiful place with great scenary.

Volunteer with one of the humanitarian groups, and at your expense, travel to Phuket and help with the rebuiliding and cleanup of the island. There is still a lot to do and you will get to experience the TRUE thailand, it's culture and people.

from my experience,

some of the must go IMO are:

Chatuchak Weekend Market:everything under the sun,but very cramp and if you are claustrophobic, might not really like it,but still a good place to check out.DEFINITE BARGAIN PLACE!!

Suan Lum Night Bazaar:Opens everyday from 7pm till late..similar to Chatuchak, but LESS CRAMP.there's also a HUGE ferris wheel to check out the night scenaries...and several pubs and bars there to chill out and just have cheap drinks w ur best friend!

Siam Paragon Food Hall:CHEAP CHEAP CHEAP FOOD!!!45baht for a meal???

Erawan(SP?) Temple:at the heartland,it's the famous budddha...

Pratunam:Indra Square,Platinum Mall,Pratunam Market..ALL THE WHOLESALE ITEMS AT WHOLESALE PRICES!!!
PS:dont go to PRATUNAM CENTRE cos there's nothing there!

basically cheap food is everywhere, but if u board the taxi-s and tell 'em u're going for dinner..they'd recommend places for u to eat...and these places are usually MORE EXPENSIVE!so dont be taken in by them..

Yaowarat/Chinatown:Cheap and nice seafood..at T&K Seafood...can check it out too..

Floating Market:another touristy sight!

HAVE A GOOD TRIP!

Bangkok NOT TO MISS:
Palace
Wats (temples)
Old river market
Thai boxing

MANY agencies arrange day tours, and it is worth the minimal fee.
