Although this isn't for the Psych interview.....these are a couple of the questions they've used on the oral interview in the past .

QUESTION 1. When was the last time you were in a fight?
CORRECT ANSWER: "When I was a kid.'.(public school age)...it's a LONG time ago".
WRONG ANSWER: Last week, last month, six months ago...etc.
REASON: They do NOT want people who are always getting into fights (for obvious reasons).

QUESTION 2. What do you do for recreation?
CORRECT ANSWER: Basketball, softball, football. soccer etc.
WRONG ANSWER: Fishing, hunting etc. (no solo sports).
REASON: They want team players. People who can be part of a unit, a team.

QUESTION 3. If you're working the 12-8 shift, and you saw your partner sleeping on duty, would you report him?
CORRECT ANSWER: Hahaha....this is one I'm gonna let YOU figure out. Be careful how you answer it.

Depending on which state you're in....there are schools (usually run by cops or retired cops) that will help to prepare you for your written, oral, psychiatric and physical tests. Some have a pretty high success rate of getting candidates police jobs.

My opinion is that if you're serious....you should find a good school and invest in the training.

Good luck.

You can't prepare for these types of tests. The one I took had over 500 questions and they ask you the same thing several times and several ways to see if your answers are consistent. Just answer them truthfully and you should be ok. If not, then you probably shouldn't be in that field and that's ok too.

If you prepare or try to fake, it you will definitely fail to impress them. The questions have have been given made no sense to me as to how they would tell them anything of value. Relax & be yourself.
