im not gonna lie, im a pretty scrawny kid, or at least i was, like a month ago, but swim season started again. i got alot more ripped and i gained a few pounds in muscle mass, how can i keep gettin bigger and more cut? any workin protein shakes you know of? im 16 and i swim for my high school. im the fastest 50 freestyler on the team, and its kinda embarressing when people r like, wow, u fast, but skinny as hell!

Being skinny works to your advantage for speed in swimming.

Sure, you could take protein shakes. If you go that route make sure you are taking whey protein and not any soy based products. Soy increases female hormones in your system which is not what you are looking for.

What you do need to do is to increase your calorie intake. Obviously you want the proper form of calories - not junk food. Rather than eating 3 meals a day, you need to increase that to 5 to 8 somewhat smaller meals consisting of protein, vegetables and complex carbohydrates. The one you eat just before bed should be protein and high fiber to slow digestion during the night.

Swimming is good aerobic exercise, but you need to do some weight lifting as well. Make sure you eat something right after weight lifting and right after swimming.
