Depends on what you want to do with your life. Some professions don't require a college degree, but if you've got one, you have so many more options available to you.

Hello JohnnyBlueLight,
About whether or not you should drop out of college, the only person that can help you is you. But if you would like to stay in school i would advise you to go talk to the admissions office or your academic adviser. I am a student at USA( University of South Alabama) and there is a policy in effect that if you don't make the grade YOU WANT, that was very important. This means that if the grade is a B and you want an A if you get an A in the class then they will let you count that A towards your degree. But of course the B is still on your records. Also the Registrar's office should be able to tell you some stuff.

A lot of people will tell you to stay in college. I will take on a different angle, something that has helped me whenever I was torn between two paths.

I would say ask yourself- from which path, when you take one more step into, is it easier to switch into the other? It seems like hanging on at least a semester more is a good answer to this one. If you're undecided, do hang on one more step, decide later. It's easier to drop out later than to go back.

The difficulty in your decision/situation is that the threshold in pursuing both paths at this point during perhaps the exam time at least is not the same, since hanging on now requires a bit of a work on your part. You might not even be able to save that one class - and might feel bad you've put the effort in. But my experience has been that whenever one puts even a teaspoonful of dedication, you feel better, and more powerful.

Even a month into it, that bit of effort might mean the difference between feeling crappy having let go of the opportunity to take one more step and feeling real good about what you've done last semester by hanging on one more exam/month.

You'll say it's not easy- you're both right and wrong. It will be very easy once you set your mind to it, whichever path of these two you choose. Just let that be your choice, and don't forget that part of the threshold will be sparing that just one bit of time outside of your social activities and friends for your own path if you choose to stay. One of the answerers above has put it very nicely- this is all a balance, and college is a great place to practice that balance.

Good luck whichever you choose.

College takes some dedication. There has to be a balance between your school work and your other activities. If other activities are interferring with your schooling, the real decision is on what is more important to you. There are only twenty-four hours in each day and you do need to sleep a few of those. If your activities are taking up your study time, you really need to establish how important those activities are to you. This can be a difficult choice. Don't depend on what you see other people doing. You need to focus on what you can and cannot do.

This thought will probably cross your mind over and over again as you go through college! It went through mine and my friends' heads. It always seems like the goal is maybe too far away and perhaps the whole thing is not worthwhile.

STICK IT OUT! You will not regret having a degree! However, it is very likely that you would/could regret not having a degree. In hindsight..the time is soooooooo short.

Do you run? If so, think of it this way...when you start running or doing any activity like that, your mind tells you to stop, but you always feel so much better in the end if you just keep going.

Have you spoken to your teacher? I don't think failing one class is going to kill you. Besides colleges give you a chance to do the class over and they keep the better grade and ignore the bad one if thats what you are worried about.
College is hard work. Its going to take up alot of time, but it will be worth it in the end.

Honestly, you should wait it out and see yourself over this obstacle. Sure, it takes alot of time and concetration to finish, but don't think of this as a burden, you will be hansomely rewarded in the end.
