My 24 year old daughter has a two year old girl she has never cared for. When the baby was born a great aunt cared for her until my daughter got upset with her and took her to another relative. Finally, after some noticable abuse, department of Family services got involved. I cared for my granddaughter for a few months but was unable to continue since I have a baby too and homeschool my other son. The baby was in foster cares (5 in all) for 7 months and then the paternal aunt got custody. We were all delighted as she seemed responsible with two children close in age to my granddaughter. She has had her a couple of months and decided that she has "bitten off more than she can chew." Now, the baby will most likely go back into foster care. I feel guilty that I cannot care for her. When she was in foster care child advocacy said she was probably sexually abused. She had vaginal scarring and adheshions. I have tried to talk to child services.I have a court hearing Thursday. Advce??

The mother is sleeping over at some friends house with her boyfriend. No job, no stable housing, no care or concern for this baby. The baby would be better off without her the way she is...also probably drug involved. The father is just out of jail and basically could care less about a baby.

I tried to care for her. I really really did. The aunt thought the same thing. Then she saw that she could not handle this child. I have a hard enough time homeschooling and caring for my child...my husband "wants" to help...but he is more consumed with t.v and such to really be a big help. He's snoaring now (as usual) so I get very little sleep to rejuvinate. I have really no family that can help. The main reason the aunt says she can't handle it is having to deal with my daughter. She is most frustrating. Family services wants to reunify the child with the mother...but she doesn't want to follow a case plan...so this poor baby just keeps getting strung along.

Where is the mother?. Why is she not involved. Some times the government will assist in careing for others, chck into help and aid. The child wether abused or not is still blood. The best love of all is from the heart though. If in you heart you trully love then love can conquer all things. The scariest things of all often become the most beautiful. Healing is a funny thing in that it goes both to and fro. You may not even realize the benifits to come ahead by diving in. Where is the mother, get her involved.
