Well, I would say that I am changed for the experience. This kind of sharing of opinions does so much:
Shows you alternative opinions
Shows you folks who share your opinions
Allows you to blow off steam and try to point out real concerns.
Allows you to get your own thoughts really clear as you write to answer these questions - particularly when you are answering the same question over and over again.
I have had a great time connecting with people over my favorite tv shows, various religious beliefs, children, education, politics. And I have had people write to me about an answer - most often to thank me for my help or perspective.
I personally think this kind of interpersonal connection across boundaries and around the globe is going to change the world. Never before have people of varying faiths, races and cultures been able to connect directly on such a large scale - without the intervention of the media or political leaders. I think it will be an amazing thing in the long run.
Peace!

Most people probably end up more entrenched in their own beliefs. But there are some who are actually asking questions because they want to hear an answer.

I don't feel entrenched in my own belief. Deism does not make me feel confined in anyway.
The time spent here will be a learning experience for me. I've learned more about religions in general than I could have learned any other way in such a short amount of time.
Somehow...this will have it's impact on me in the long run....but I don't know if it will be highly significant.

a word to the wise is sufficient....
ask yourselves...why would God send us to heaven or hell...then bring us back together to judge us if we already have our blessing or punishment? Does it mean God cannot make up his mind?
Why does he say the meek will inherit the earth forever, then say you are going to heaven?
Because....only 144000 will go from earth to heaven to rule with Christ for 1000 years
The dead will be ressurected and when everyone is perfect again...God will let them be tempted one last time. Then judged...
Those who pass the test...live forever in peace on earth.....the bad go to sleep and never come back.
And never again will anyone die.

No changes to my own positions, but I have more of an awareness of other opinions (and levels of antagonism) that are out there. Awareness is an end unto itself.

You will get more value out of embracing a form of spirituality and reading religious literature.
