can i use computer like an amplifier?

I want to hook up a microphone to my pc
and speak into it while simultaneously hearing myself
from the speakers...
so as to use it like a normal microphone through my pc
is that possible?

Double click on your speaker icon and uncheck the mute box under the Microphone slider. Crank 'er up and keep the mic as far from the speakers as possible ;-)
