I'm so sorry about Sky. You state that you "saw it the other day"-- didn't you check on your animals EVERYDAY? Did you know that birds eat their seed and leave the shells in their dish so it could "look" like there is food in the dish, but in fact, they are all empty shells-- and birds have no thyroid so they have to EAT constantly to keep their temperature up---
If you know for sure they both had food and fresh water ( their water bowl has to be washed daily because it develops algae that can kill them), Tweety could have attacked him but you would see a wound. Birds also die from pneumonia- due to a draft, or more commonly, heart attacks from bird fright-- you might hear them thrashing around in the dark--

I had 2 18 year old lovebirds die and I buried them in tupperware in my yard.

Just keep Tweety alone for awhile, just to make sure he is not manifesting any type of disease--- you might want to take him to a vet to check him out to be sure.

I am very sorry to hear that. Losing a pet is very hard. Depending on the age, your bird may have died of natural causes, I no mine did...he was very old. Also, Im sure if you saw markings on his body then you know if the bird was attacked. I burried my bird in the backyard. You can put it in a little box if you would like, dig a hole, and bury the bird. All I know about hamsters are that mine was very messy and if you dont play with them they tend to turn on you and start biting. If you love birds then buy another. If you never had a hamster you will have to buy all the necessities for it and since you already have birds you will have everything you need.

Once again, im very sorry about your bird. Good luck.

I am very sorry for your loss, it hurts so much to lose a pet. Its hard to know with birds, even something like a loud noise near by could have stopped his heart. If the other bird attacked Sky, he'd probably have signs of being injured.

When you bury Sky, it should be quite deep so that other animals don't smell his remains and dig him up. I'm sorry, I know that sounds gross, but its necessary to bury animals properly.

Take care.

The best way to figure out how your bird died is a necropsy.

You should take Tweety to the vet to make sure that whatever was wrong with Sky wasn't contagious.

If you need a vet, you can look for one at http://aav.org/vet-lookup

sorry for your loss..I have experienced this.I had a cockatiel named Boodro. One day he died..he was a happy, healthy and well loved family member.I still miss him..it has been a long time.I ended up getting 2 cockatiels after..even though it is not the same,in some ways they remind me of him!I buried mine in a shoebox,in my yard.maybe you could do the same.possibly even have Sky cremated.I personally have never done that.A friend of mine did just that with her dog of 20 years!as for getting another pet I say go with another parakeet.I suggest taking Tweety for a check up,as others have said as well.best of luck!

i had a parakeet once too. it died in the same matter. i read some where when i had the bird that they can just die from loneliness sometimes.
For a new pet its not on your list but i would suggesta Hedge hog.
under a tree would be best.

I'm not sure how your bird died..But I'm sorry about that, i'm not just being like any idiot saying i'm sorry..because i know what it feels
like to lose a pet that you love soo much.. my dog, my puppy maeve
we had to give her away, because many reasons.. anyway,
it broke my heart so much.. i never had a dog before, and i loved
that little girl more than i ever thought i would love a dog..

so losing a pet is sad..i'm sorry that you feel sad.you're not alone.
=''( sorry.. but, Perhaps bury your little bird in the woods, because birds love trees and they love to fly..so, her/his spirit
can be satisfied and happy in the woods..

get a guinea they are so friendly if you ar kind to them, it may take a week or so to get to know you first. and bury your bird in the yard then in the spring plant a bush or tree beside where she is.if both birds are the same kind i dontthink the other bird did it. my bird died b/c her beak grew too long and curled into itself and she couldnt eat. we didnt know till it was too late.:(.
yea get a guinea. !
