Siuation:
Cash Games
6-12 limit with full kill

Opponent ? ?
Me Q♠ 5♠

Board: 10♣ 3♠ 2♠ A♦ Q♥

Here is what happened:

It was a kill pot and three people were in the pot.
I was in the big blind and So I called 6 dollars more,
After the flop I made a bet of 12 dollars as the first one to act. It was raised and reraised and I capped it.
My thinking on this was great odd for a flush.
After the turn a Ace straight draw better odds I made a strong lookign bet which as raised and the third person droped out.
After missing the flush and draw, My Opponent most likey having two pair I check and didnt complete the last bet even though pairing.

My Opponent looking very strong and made a bet.

What is your opinion of the play?
Do you think I made the right play not giving him any more money?

By the way, Structured betting 6 before, 6 after flop 12 on 4 and fifth

since it was kill

Also I was on the ropes in a way

12 instead on 6 and 24 instead of 12

first off i dont know why i am answering this question but the only reason i can think of is i am really tired and thought you should get the correct answer instead of a bunch of people who dont know what they are talking about. First off it is tough to say what you should do in a particular hand since every game and every situation is different. Depending on the aggressiveness of the game and the way that particular player who raised you plays. I dont think its a bad call preflop since it is 4 way action and there was no one remaining that could reraise. It is usually a good idea to play your hand aggressively after the flop but their is a fine line between an solid aggressive player and a complete fish. inexperienced players tend to find it difficult between these two. Capping a flush draw on the flop is definitely not the corrects play in this situation. you are playing in a structured limt game where it is very difficult to get a person off of hand instead i recommen playing more consertavely but appear to play crazy. This way you get the benefit of being paid off when you have the hand as well as stealing a few pots here or there. Anyways without knowing the situation in its entirety (Agresiveness of the players, Length of session, Who was stuck and previous hands played etc) This is going to have to be extensive sorry but i have to finish this now that i am started (SCENARIO 1). Call preflop. bet out the flop if one raise then i would call to see the turn. The A is a bad card since you now can be pretty certain that your opponent either has an A or had the overpair and playing in a 6-12 i dont like the idea of representing an A. So i would check the turn. Depeding on who else were remaining in the hand and the size of the pot would determine my calling or folding. If i called and a Q came on the river it would have to depend on the player betting but judging from your scenario of him raising when the A came down I would fold more then not. (Scenario 2) Sometimes i will check raise the flop to mix up my betting. You dont want to do this to often since if you constantly check raise draws they begin to lose value. Also you end up getting into trouble on this hand since if you were to check raise this flop and only get called by your opponent an A turns and you probably cant continue betting since most likely your opponent is trapping you with a big hand or just hit an ace on the turn and now your going to be paying even more for your draw. There are so many more scenarios but my fingers are starting to hurt so ill leave you with those. Try and be more careful with your draws. When your playing a limit cash game they lose quite a bit of value You can start of playing them aggressive and see if you can pick up the pot early orbuild it alittle bit on the flop with many people in but once somebody comes back at you. You should almost always wait and see if it comes in before pushing to hard. Remember that person accross the table from you calling you down with middle pair is going to win the same size pot as you would if you hit your draw and the chances of his little pair holding up are better then yours of coming down. People overplay drawing hands since it feels good to score that big hand and know your good. I play with guys all the time that play the same move all night pound there draws against me and i keep winning there money off them 3..4..5...6 hands until finally they hit the big hand against me and take the pot. They forget though that the pot they just won was around the same size as each of the 6 pots I took off them. Instead of being the person drawing with the hand try making the other people pay to try and hit that big hand against you thats where the real money is to be made.
VERY IMPORTANT Take my word for it this is incredibly good advice i have been playing poker for a long time and have been very successful. Next time your playing in a limit game concentrate on being a smart aggressive player. Raise alot of semi-good hands in position(pocket pairs mid to high connectors and mid to high range hands eg. KJ, K10, A10 Ax suited but not complete junk) if called do a token bet on the flop and see what the other player does. Be aggressive in that respect but be able to get away ffrom the hand if you need to. Try to control the game where people see your raising quite abit. If you are controlling the table it makes it much easier to make money. People will start calling preflop when you raise and then either throw their hand away on the flop or just call more often then raising you. This is because when you control a table people fear you more then you would expect they wait to hit the big hand to raise you and this way you can pick up the small pots and have people calling you down with touch when you have the hand as well as be able to get away from hands easy since most hands where you completely miss will play out like this. Raise preflp call. Bet out on Flop they call. They Check you Check. Then river either you miss and throw your hand away or you hit and play your hand from there depending what your opponent does. Either way it makes the game very inexpensive. And thats what the games all about.
Remember everytime you play always maximise your wins and minimize your losses..
Hope this wasnt to long but i love talking poker and could probably write about it forever.

P.S, Every hand is different and every scenario is its own there is no correct answer to how to play any given hand since there are to many variables at play thats what makes this game so great!!!

Big blind, bad hand, worst position, I don't know about that. You were getting proper odds pre flop to call, but once you missed the flop you should have just checked, by betting and then capping it on the flop with just a draw was a bad play, being in bad position and being the first to act was wrong on your part, I would try to get a free card on the flop and fold on the turn when i miss, and if it was bet by someone else after you check the flop you can get out of the way or smooth call the bet, you should have never capped the betting on the flop with such a draw. You were most likely up against a set or over-pair on this hand, i myself check and fold on the flop if there is any action. As for it being a kill pot doesn't change the odds on the hand, it just mean more money will be in the pot, it does not mean you should see more flops just because it is a kill pot.

That was good play, you did just what most of us PROS would have done and you saved a bet on the end too! Next time with a powerful holding like Qx suited you should come in for a raise, you are only going to miss the flop 80-95% of the time and the raise really puts the premium hands on tilt!-lol I KNOW ,YOU HAD TO PLAY, IT WAS SUITED!!!!!

I dont know and dont care i just want to know why you go to peoples question and say do your own homework instead of helping why write anything if your ignorant of the answer. If you read it it was a review so read a little more instead of trying to rack up points.

I think you should play your own card game and stop trying to get points by telling others to do their own homework!!!!!!!!!!!!!
