run does just that runs the program from a temporary file on your computer and save saves the program to your hard drive. If your installing a program and have a slow Internet connection i recommend saving it other wise just run the program.

Mostly RUN will execute (or run) the software as it's downloaded and then NOT keep a copy of the executable file (the program that actually runs) on your computer. Mostly it's a good idea to save the program to your computer and THEN run it...keeps a copy of the original program (and hopefully the documentation on how to uninstall it should the need arise.) Also alleviates any problems with the running of the program being interferred with by the downloading process if there are multiple files.

Run will download the file to a temporary location and try to activate or install it immediately. Save will simply store the file in a place you designate so that you can run it at a later time.

You may want to save it and run it later if you have a spyware and virus scanner that does not automatically check the software as you download it.

Or you may want to download it in one place so you can copy it to removable media for installation on another PC. For example, when I had a problem with my network card, I had to download the new driver to a working PC, then copy the driver to a diskette and then install it from there onto the other PC.

The difference between run and save is when you click run it downloads the program and runs it from a temporary directory and after it is run it will eventually delete it from the temporary directory. When you click save it will ask you where to save it usually and leave a perminent file of the downloaded software on your hard drive . If you don't want it anymore you have to go and delete it yourself.

Whenever you download a software either from internet or a dvd/cdrom etc it asks you if you want to run or save. Its simple. if you select RUN it will copy tht file(which is being downloaded) to a temporary folder(inside windows directory mostly , whose location you wont know) and then when its finished copying , it will be directly run from that location.

Where AS , SAVE option is like you can specify where you want to copy the file(like My Documents) and after it has been copied it won`t run automatically, you have to run/open file manually by going to that folder and clicking it)

With RUN option (you know file is stored in some temporary folder in windows or so) many times the files are deleted automatically as the process of windows maintainance procedure or when you select delete temporary files. But sometimes they are not and hence they eat up your disk space. Its better to choose save and then open/run

hope it clears your doubt !

When you choose run before downloading software, the system automatically creates/suggests where to save the sooftware to (what directory) & starts downloading it there then begins the installation process. If you choose save, you can choose what directory to put the program in & install it later after downloading.

"Run" will simply run whatever program or open whatever file you're trying to access straight from the website you're at. "Save" will save a copy of it onto your hard drive. If you might want to run a program while you're offline, or simply want to have a copy, choose "save". Choose "run" if you only plan to open the file once, or are using someone else's computer. Always be careful that you trust the website you're downloading from, because this is how many people get spyware and adware on their computers.

After downloading, you can either "run" the program at that time and install it or save it to install later.

Well if you want too install it now then click "run" but if you want to install it at a later time (you might want to reserch it or something) then click "save" it will save to the default location, when you want to install it you simply double click it and it will open and install the software just as if you clicked "run".
Hopped that helped!
