I don't know what the top rated flat iron is, but I use the Chi flat iron by Farouk. I also use the Chi line for shampoo, conditioner, and straightening serum. I have had mine for about 3 years now and I absolutely love it. I went through about $500 worth of other flat irons and non of them compare to it at all. My hair is naturally curly and frizzy. You can find the 1" on eBay around $80 with shipping or in the stores for $140 before taxes. If you have long hair, I would recommend the 2" as it will straighten your hair faster. HAIRART Ceramic Straight Iron with automatic sense control system. The reason why I like it is because it makes my hair poker straight and it does not pull the hair causing split ends and in general hair coming out when forced.
I bought it for $190.00 CDN. It is alot cheeper on ebay if you find the right one.
It is by far the best straightener ever. I looked all over forever to find it and used 3 other expensive ones before it. I even tried ones that everyone ( friends and hairdressers) recommended. They werent as good. It is alot cheeper on ebay if you find the right one.

I would get a Chi iron. I'm a stylist, and that is what I use on my clients. I've had mine for about a year and I love it. They are a little expensive, around $120, but it is absolutely worth it if you'll use it often!

i'm not sure about top rated but i think chi is the most popular. i have a sedu and it works great. i'd recommend it to anyone.
