I've collected several old Smokey the Bear posters and was thinking about laminating them, maybe this is a bad idea. Can't really afford to have them all mounted/framed. Don't know if they are or ever will be worth anything, i just love them. What do you think?

Bad idea, the "laminate" would ruin the value. First, I'd go to an antique store and see what they are (or possibly could be) worth. Then I would go to a craft store and buy an art tablet (the size of the largest poster) made with acid free paper, and put each poster between the pages. This will not only preserve the posters by keeping them flat, but will prevent the poster material from deteriorating. If you want to display them, keep them out of direct sun and use only acid free mounts.

Laminating them does no longer be a nasty idea, even with the reality that if it truly isn't any longer achieved good you get air bubbles and creases contained in the plastic. even with the undeniable fact that, it truly is probable the most inexpensive thanks to bypass. i'd say go searching and locate an section that has intense recognition, that human beings like going to. you're extra in all possibility to get more effective high quality that way. you are able to also attempt chatting with human beings on the laminating keep, or with those who do framing and ask them for a doable, low fee approach that seems good.

I don't think I would laminate them. Then they would surely not be worth anything.

I know professional framing is expensive, but you might check your local megamart for poster frames. They can be as inexpensive as $4. Even if you just stack them in a closet, at least they'll be protected.

Usally you roll them up and get a tube to put them in.Post office may have those tubes.People put blueprints and maps and anything long you can roll. You wont see them but they will keep out of the light.
