there are two types of fertilisations in animals one is asexual and other is sexual. usually asexual takes place in unicellular and some multilevel as well and sexual fertilisation only takes place in multicellular organisms with complex structure

External and internal. Think of fish and amphibians, where females lay eggs in the water and males squirt sperm on them...and then most of the other animals, that have internal fertilization.
Asexual reproduction, by definition, does not involve fertilization.
