my sister can't stand my mother but uses her when she needs her to watch the kids so she can go out and party all nite long. How can I help my mother to say no to my sister? She doesn't give my mother an ounce of respect and it ticks me off that my mom lets my sister treat her like a piece of s.hit!

My guess is she's doing the babysitting so she can see the kids.......and not so much to help your sister. She may be afraid that if she stands up to your sister that she'll lose the grandkids. She probably knows her daughter well, and is putting up with her bad behaviour because she knows the outcome could be worse. Its wrong, and hard to watch I know, but I'd bet that's the reason.

I think that if you mom had some balls she'd probably be looking for a lot more than "saying no to your sister". I wouldn't try to help your mom get testicles. This could further complicate her hormones and disrupt your family life even further than your out of control sister. Instead, maybe see if you sister can grow some balls and learn how to take care of her own kids!

Mothers generally love their children and will always be there for them. As a grandmother myself, I take any opportunity to spend time with my grandchildren and I am sure your mother does the same. When you have children of your own, you will be more understanding of your mothers attitude and acceptance of your sisters actions. Is there maybe a bit of jealousy on your part that maybe you think your mother does more for your sister than she does you?

your mom is probably more concerned about the grandkids I'm thinking so when she's watching them it's not for your sister's benefit, it's so that she knows they are safe, kinda sucks though, my mom rarely will watch my kids, must be nice.

well women do not grow balls (at least i dont think)...so that is asking an awful lot of her.....
