He knows I like him, but he's danced around the subject. I suspect he likes me too, but I think the age difference scares him a bit(17 years). How can I talk to him about this? We've become really good friends and we have a lot in common, we talk everyday. I just wish I could get him to talk about it.

You need to find out if there is anyone else in his life. If he is single then maybe just ask if he would like to go have a drink after work. There is 16 years between me and my hubby and it is ok. Then again you have to keep in mind that when younger women go after old men the stereotype of money grabber- gold digger is always there and maybe that worries him too. Another thing you have to be careful not to fall into the father daughter roll that happens a lot with people from different generations.

I would just talk to him and be his friend If he wants more then sooner or later he will let you know. However don't hound him like a love sick school kid( granting that you are not that) He has been through that stage already and doesn't want to experience it again.

well, it seems as though he might be hung up on the are issue as well. is it a legality thing? just wondering...

he may like you, but might not want a relationship with you. it might just be that he finds you to be an attractive friend, but not someone he wants to become involved with either due to this issue of age or for any number of other reasons. on the other hand, he could really be interested, but not realize you are. sometimes boys don't get girls flirting.

yeah, you might just have to be completely blunt with him and tell him how you feel. it might make things really awkward & ruin your friendship if he does not feel the same. however, that is always the risk you take with showing your feelings. stick to your guns...

Invite him to lunch. I wouldn't worry about the age difference. It's the companionship that counts. It's hard to find, and I bet you both know you are compatible.

that's one lucky guy :) since you are friends already it will come to a point where you guys would talk seriously, but apparently not now.. but if you cant wait just tell him truly what is in you and he'll get serious about it

Sit him down and talk about it, and only it, dont change the subject or let him change the subject.
