Now my sister in-law is taking care of my step father he has been sick and can't walk very good and has a hard time signing his name, other then that he is in good heath. My mother in ICU and my sister in-law is telling the the hospital that she is my sister and is signing papers work for do test and she even sign to put my mother on life support if she needs it. She would never want to be on life support. Is that legal?

Your mother and step-father need to give Power-of-Attorney to you or someone they trust to make medical and financial decisions for them if they are unable. If your mother is able to speak for herself at this point...she should tell the hospital she wishes to sign a living will. This will stop heroic medical measures being taken (such as life support)

No, it's not legal. Go to the hospital and tell them the truth. Then take steps to make sure your sister-in-law signs nothing more. You and your brother need to agree in whatever is being done. Failing that, download a power of attorney and have your parents sign it in front of a notary giving you power of attorney.

I don't think your sister inlaw has any rights what so ever unless your mother gave her power attorney. I would get a lawyer if you can and bust the wench..sorry had to say it..lol If you cant do that then talk to someone in charge of that sort of thing in the hospital. What does your brother say??
