No matter what that truth is, God or no god or something totally beyond all our senses. But in order for you to know this knowledge, you could never see your loved ones again. Could you take a, one-way trip, like that to know the secrets of the universe?

This knowledge is known only by you. You would be unable to share it but it was the truth.

And I would give up everything...to know the truth.

Never. I'd love to know the truth, but not if it means giving up my family and friends. I'd rather have them, than know everything.

Absolutely not. Personally I am very set in my ways, I am athiest and I am happy believing there is no God, no spiritual beings, etc. I live a very good life, and I'd be quite dissapointed to find out the truth was what I believed in all along! I think people who belive in God need that comfort in thier lives. The socialization that takes place every Sunday at church, the good lessons taught by the bible, and the pure abundance of "knowing" there is a greater power looking after you. If you take that away, a void exists in the lives of so many. Ignorance is bliss, no matter what the truth may be.

No don't think I would. I think I would live my life and when I die then I'd find out if all I have believe is true or not. After all, it's not like I could change things or tell anyone once I found out anyways. So why would I want to loose all the good stuff and all the love? Why would I want to end my time with them early? I'm not suicidal if that is what your asking. What's the purpose of this trip again? What good would it bring?

No, not only would I miss the people that I love I would probably regret knowing the truth of the world. Part of the beauty of this life is having hope in things not known and hope in good things to come. I wouldn't want to ruin that and especially not at the expense of love.

No, I wouldn't.

I'm not saying it because I'm "scared" of finding the truth either.

It would be terrific for it to be as easy as that.

However, I love my family and friends too much to find out something that has no affect on my life beyond that point. I would live a meaningless, pointless existance without my family and friends.

I'm not a religious man but I do know that love is one of the truths of my life, so how could I give up a truth to know the truth?

No. I wouldn't want to know. Why? What if there is nothing beyond our life. I don't want to know that. I wouldn't want to know that when I die, that's it.
It takes away my hope, and my hope is what keeps me going. I willing to be more selfish and keep what I have rather than be selfish and know what this world holds.
It's not worth it.
Not knowing is the reason for life. I think people wouldn't be the good part of themselves anymore if there was no god. Because if there is no god then no one judges you when you die.
Life is precious only because we don't know!

Let me tell you. The truth may not be a release of any burden to you. In fact I know it wouldnt be. It's kind of like the Matrix. Be happy eating your steak and having a beer and forget the man behind the curtain. What he has to tell you may drain you of any will to go on.

God gave up everything so we could know the truth.

(John 3:16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
