You can download a free powerpoint viewer from Microsoft. It allows you to view existing presentations, but not to create or edit existing files.

You can download lots of free "templates" at microsoft office online. (templates are the background/picture design)

microsoft.com word search microsoft powerpoint 97 and it brings up a few of them that you can download.Not for sure if you can edit or create presentation on it,but you can view pps, ppt files.

go to openoffice they have a version for free and it is legal.
