Has anyone bought these for your kids. How do you like them? are they worth the 60 bucks?

Wow, a few spoil-sport answers--your son would not like this site. The kids love these, because, as the name indicates, they have wheels in the heels.

They seem to be pretty rugged shoes and can stand up to a year's worth of use if he doesn't grow out of them. And if he does, and they're still in good condition, sell them on eBay or another auction site. And, if you think $60 is a little steep, get them on an auction yourself. You may find a great deal.

Perfect Christmas gift. Come on Mom. All the kids want heelys now. remember the fads when you were younger. Yes they are worth the 60 bucks. I wish they had them when I was younger we only had rollerskates. We never even had inline skates.

I don't see any problem with buying him heelys. Kids everywhere have them. Just make sure he knows where and where not to wear them. I work in a school and we have problems with kids wearing them to school, that is ok if they take the wheels out and put the piece in that covers it. Anyway it is not like you are only buying him skates they are both.. I want some of my own.. lol

Both my older kids had them. My son liked them much better than my daughter, and they were great for a while. Like any shoe, they grow out of them quickly, and they are pretty hard around the heel and when the fabric wears, it does start to hurt their feet. I got them for a bday present, that's what they wanted, and I could have spent $60 on a toy they only played with for a few weeks. We got a little bit more for our money....

I haven't personally bought any. But I have seen tons of kids wearing them in the mall and at wal-mart and they fly right past you and bump into you (I guess they don't know how to stop or slow down) if my kid asked for some I wouldn't buy them unless they only put them on to go out side to play or something.

I don't think 7 year old boys should have 60 dollar shoes unless you can truly afford it. They grow way to fast. You could probably find some good deals on nike, or adidas if he really wants name brand. If he is 7 he really shouldn't be asking for name brand stuff yet.
good Luck.

Many schools have banned them - students can lose their balance or fail to stop when they use the wheel part. They are also notorious for leaving black marks on hard floors. I wouldn't pay $60 for them.

Our daughter loves hers and they seem pretty safe. They also have a safety video on their website for the parents and kids to watch together so that you both know what is and isnt safe to do with them. Hope this helps!

Yes, worth it, just make sure that you call the school to find out the rules of wearing them there.

a lot of kids around here have them, and they look like a lot of fun. Unfortunately, they often zoom around inside stores with them, zipping rudely around other customers (OK, me). So if you do get them for your son, make sure he understands they're for outdoors, not inside, and that he needs to watch out for others instead of assuming that they'll get out of his way.
