objection about there not being a Menorah up. Our weather man on channel 8 news just stated he did not understand because a Christmas tree was a pagan symbol. Those of you who call yourself Christian, check out this site http://www.thercg.org/books/ttookc.html then read Matthew 15:9 and Mark 7:9. NOW, WHY DO YOU CELEBRATE CHRISTMAS?

The Supreme Court has held that a Christmas tree is not a religious symbol, but rather a secular symbol. I have no problem with that decision, as a liberal. Religious accommodations, such as the footbaths you refer to, have long been upheld by the courts. I also have no problem with reasonable religious accommodations. Be careful how you categorize people’s beliefs. The ACLU, for instance, has fought for the rights of evangelical Christians to preach on the sidewalks of the Strip in Las Vegas. The individual rights being protected have to analyzed in context. Also the facts of the Seattle airport controversy were that a local rabbi wanted a Menorah also displayed and the response of the Seattle airport was to remove the Christmas trees. That was just silly.

I heard that story on the way to an appointment tonight. If we all worshipped God the same way, this wouldn't be happening.

Christians don't celebrate Christmas, because we celebrate Christ every week during the Lord's Supper. I read the verses you mentioned, and I think you meant to say Mark 7:6-7, not verse 9.

I don't need to go to the website but speaking as a Christian all the Rabbi wanted was his holiday to be recognized. I don't understand why the airport could not simply put up a menorah.

They removed the trees because they did not want to put up a menorah. How petty. Christians aren't the only people who want to celebrate a pagan holiday.

I'm sure God has no objections to me buying my family gifts and spending time with them. There is nothing wrong with having traditions. If there was then a certain religion that values money and little boys over actual worship, would be burning now. Its all repetitive motions and no feeling.Worshipping false idols? Its all traditional! So traditions are wrong? Your going to hell for celebrating your birthday, or your kids! Sounds like another religion who pretend their own family members are dead if they get "disfellowshipped". They also treat women like they are second class citizens. Boy I could go on and on! I'm sick of hearing that I'm going to hell for celebrating holidays the way my family always has....Traditions. There are worse things than Celebrating holidays, Ive given a few examples.

I celebrate Christmas because it signifies the birth of Christ, and the presents he received from the wise men. And yes, I realize that its not his actual birthday
