, toward Muslims though. Ok , I am an Iranian . I think a lot of people think my government leaders do believe in Islam. Ok, as far as I know, my leaders just believe in two things, first, money, secondly, power. As I said , I am not religious and I do not to defend Islam . I just wana tell if my leaders do talk about Islam, it is not because they do believe in it, no. In fact they use Islam as mean to accomplish their evil purposes. As an Iranian I know my leader better. My question is what u would think about my leaders, do you think they actually believe in God or they are just pretending they do

I don't know if your leaders believe in god or not, but since alot of the population or people believes in god, it would be easier to use the name of god to persuade people to do things in believe that it is under god's will to do it. So, when you have leaders, who has political power, they can easily used god's name to persu their interest.

That's what most leaders do: use religion as a means to accomplish power. Islam itself is a great religion like all other religions in the world. No religion tells to hate or kill fellow human beings. People interpret religious messages into their own meanings to accomplish evil purposes like you said.

I think they believe in power. And power in Iran since the 1979 revolution comes from radical Shiite Islam. The oil money comes with the religious power because the religious power runs the country right now. But that could change if the people rise up and change it.

1. Christianity is true, that's just for the benefit some of the other answerers,
Sorry to detract from the question,
Unfortunaltey there are many in America who profess one thing but do something else,
for example it is directly contradicting to say one is a Christian and then also say abortion and homosexuality are ok, keep in mind the true Christian abhors violence as well. I would probably think of your leaders a lot like I think of a lot of the leaders around here.
Good Luck and God Bless.

I met some cool muslems in Turkey and knew an exchange student from syria when I was going to Uni all were good people.....iand they were all its a religion of peace etc etc.....and I believe that they belive that .....Lot of the people iin turkey were like you they were not fanatics they were just people....you know? Its the zealots and the fanatics ....the absolutets that refuse to see things from any other perspective they are the ones that are blind......
You have to be willing to see things from other peoples perspective to understand how others think.....and feel, you can not be frim and unrelenting.....an open heart and mind is thetrue path to enlightenment........

I think most religious fanatics (which, sadly includes many leaders) do believe in God. However, their belief has somehow gotten twisted in a way that leads them away from Him.

I think your leaders really do believe in God. They may be corrupt sometimes, but they definately believe in God. It's grounded in their thinking, and they just adjust their God to match up with their viewpoints.

I think that OUR leader, George Bush, actually DOES believe, and that's what makes him so dangerous.
He thinks god wants him to kill for...god?
