There is a girl who's really kind and caring to me and jokes a lot around me. So I developed a crush on her. Only after a month did I figure out that she already has a boyfriend.

Knowing that being around her would only develop my crush even more, make me wish for her more, and therefore hurt me more (as I know she can't be mine), I ain't really sure what to do. Pull away gradually? Act normally n take the pain anyway?
Any suggestions?

don't cut off interaction with her, just limit seeing her to about half of what you normally do. if she cares, she'll question, but if you tell her she'll understand. if she doesn't ask, oh well. and you need to try to get oevr her. and if you cut her off completely, she'll bug the heck out of herself obsessing over what she did to make taht happen.

Unrequited love has crushed many a soul and you can't go through life without that pain at least once. The truth is that it is infatuation and it can last a long time and be very painful. The best thing to do is find someone available to focus on and redirect that type of affection. Quite often the person will actually miss you when you become less available and when they are next single you might be high on the list. Pulling away abruptly is my advise as further emotional investment will only hurt you more.

Just put her in "the friend zone" for now, and keep looking for other girls. If you stay friends with her, later on she might break up with her boyfriend and take an even better interest in you. And if not, you might end up with a good friend who can help or introduce you to other girls. Just for future reference...girls with boyfriends are the easiest to catch. Chances are she's dating a prick, and if you hang out with her enough she'll see how much better you are than her man, and she'll start to want you.

well one thing is you can be her freind as she jokes with you and is caring so this tells you what>? that she values you as a friend and is getting to know you. If they break up or have a falling out guess who is right there to console her? You are.. your gonna be there for her no matter what as you like her.. and she will learn to know you trust you and who knows.. and at least your close.. or getting close be patient who knows.. be a good friend to her..and when hes out with the guys etc you can always ask her to join you for pizza or watch a movie dvd play and know his where abouts so you know when to plan time .

have you ever traced this pain back to an earlier relationship you might have had with your parents divorcing? or a first relationship when you were a teenager?
