depends where the stitches are really. it usually takes 10-14 days, but maybe longer if in a warm moist part of the body, as the environment is not great for encouraging the healing process, and it may take slightly longer. ask your gp or district nurse if you are concerned.

It depends on the type of dissolving stitches. Plain gut sutures break down quickly, and dissolve in a matter of a few days. If the gut is treated chemically, called chromic, it takes about 50% longer.

Other dissolving stitches can last considerable longer depending on the type, suture size, and location. Some can take several months to loose their strength.

i was always told 2 weeks, was the same when i got my dog fixed too
