It was divine destiny that Jesus would be betrayed. If it wasn't Judas..I could have been Peter..if not Peter it could have been me.

I think salvation would have happened with or without Judas. I mean, Jesus was God stuck in a human body, so He had to die sometime just like all other humans. Without Judas, He still would have taken on the burden of all of our sins and I think he still would have died a very painful death, but just when He was older. And I'm sure that even without Judas, Pontius Pilate would have found out about Jesus and would have killed Him.

He did in a sense but its funny that Jesus knew he would. Before his death he did say father forgive them, for they know not what they do and that would include Judas whether you like it or not. Salvation starts from a revelation from within to realize what wrong you have done beforehand and change the way you live for the better.

Ahhh no, they wouldn't. Jesus's group was pretty small - 12 men, and their wives, children and assorted hangers on. Betrayal wasn't necessary.
Besides, looking at it historically for a minute - Jesus was an insurrectionist of his own accord. He was going to get arrested, some point or another; it didn't necessarily have to be that night. He was going to get executed, because of his high charisma and ability to get people to do things.
No betrayal was needed. Jesus knew what he was doing, and was willing to take the consequences of his actions. He took personal responsibility, knowing that someday he'd have to die for his actions.
Would that more people actually acted as Jesus did, not some trumped up church crapola that's not true christianity at all.

I don't think that the whole Judas thing was necessary. Had that not happened Jesus would have still been found and condemned. It is more important that the crowd found Jesus to be more worthy of crucifixation than Barabas and thus condemned him there. Otherwise, Jesus would have been set free. Ultimately, he would be arrested again later on down the road and put to death, it was inevitable.

There were enough people back then bearing false witness against Christ, that if one of the disciples hadn't revealed his identity, someone else would have stepped up and handled the job. But part of what Christ had to go through was having everyone desert him - he had to suffer on his OWN, without friends or family, and even the spirit of his Father withdrew for a time so that the atonement was truly accomplished by Christ himself.

Yes. One of the other diciples would surely have betrayed him eventually... because they were human. But, according to the story, Jesus knew it would be Judas who betrayed him. Since God knows all, it never could have been any other way.

It's a good point. Lets take it further. If Judas hadnt betrayed Jesus, and the dominant Hebrews hadn't asked the Romans to intervene, and Pontius Pilate hadn't commanded his crucifixion, how would there have been any martyrdom, fullfillment of prophecy, ressurrection and eventually.....Christianity?

Divine Destiny..... Jesus knew that He had to be Crucified, he picked the man that was to betray him, he knew well before it ever came to earth. God knows us from the end to the beginning He knew the plans for all of our lives before the foundation of the earth was ever laid.. Read your Bible with your heart and your mind ask for divine revelation before you read and watch the word come to life to yourself.
God Bless you
