Religions or lack there of? You say there is a God, I say there isn't. Whos right? The religous person assures you they are. The other person thinks your just plain crazy.

Maybe this other person belives in monsters, vampires, other mystical creatures. There is no concrete evidence for those creatures nor God. Yet the other person would be a nut job right?

Or on the other side, why are people so quick to say there is no God? If you belive there is not God, the you must belive we are just here right? Or we are here because of the big bang theory and evolution etc. If you accept those theories, then you accept it was thought up by man. Isn't that the same as thinking bible was writen by man there for it isn't true?

I think the fighting over who is right is wasted energy that could be used else where. I also think religion is a wonderful thing. But it does just as much harm as good to society.

You are correct. Fighting over whether there is a God or not is a moot point. My thought process is to live my life the best I can, a life that is pleasing to God. When I die, if I'm correct, I will spend eternity in His presence. If I die and my atheist friends are correct, I'll just be plain ol' dead. How do I stand to lose anything? I'll take my chances with God. Arguing doesn't make him any more real or any less real. It's a personal thing. I refuse to argue something that is so obvious to me. No one will ever talk me out of it, so I wouldn't engage in an argument over God.

For some reason people have a need to be right and the other person wrong. We should look for common ground. No one can say for sure if God exists for sure, even if we think so.People need to have an edge over the other guy and be right ,not me.I yhink it is an ego thing. What is so wrong with being wrong, nothing at all.You are not going to die or suffer if you are wrong. You just want to be the big man on campus.Th e all knowing expert

I am created in the image of God. Therefore I think to some degree like God. I experience Him every day. There is nothing anyone can do to convience me that He doesn't exist. Those who do not have the prompting of the Holy Spirit cannot know God. There is nothing I can do to help them believe God. So I'm not about to fight anyone.

Human nature, pretty hard to overcome.

Chew on this, where do "morals" come from (assuming there is no God, and those who think there is are mistaken), how do you know right from wrong, and why? Who makes the rules? I am not being sarcastic, I really want to know, how this world free of religion is going to work, there will have to be scientific proof to back up the rules. None of this "it feels bad" crap, right?

I don't think it's religion that harms society per se. It's the combination of certain religious beliefs and the unwillingness of the believers to leave other people alone.

The real problem lays with the fact that in certain religions they
have a semi-reward system for converts they bring in, almost
like getting points in Yahoo answers.

In my line of artwork i'd desire to have the flexibility to make speedy fee judgements with regard to the folk I artwork with - the trick is to be open-minded adequate to no longer decide at face fee. This philosophy does no longer, although, artwork nicely in my own existence as I proceed to omit the super photograph.
