I need to relax more. Does anyone know some breathing techniques I could try? Please be specific. Websites for relaxing would be very helpful as well. Anywhere with soothing music, relaxing thoughts, etc.

Please don't tell me to do yoga and stuff, because I don't have the time and money to learn how to.

Sit in a comfortable position. A chair ... on the ground with your back rested against something .. a sofa .... your bed .. anywhere u find comfortable.

Make sure all distractions are turned off ..phones ... clocks .. dripping taps .. any external noises .. wear ear buds if you have to.

Close your eyes. ( that should be easy )

With your eyes closed ... bring your attention to your breathing. Do not imagine yourself breathing, ... simply feel the breath of air coming into you and going out of you. Do not force yrself to breath, just breath normally.

Keep your attention on your breathing, for approx 3 minutes
If you find your mind drifting to thoughts, acknowledge the thought and slowly bring your attention back to your breathing..

Now in your MIND (without even whispering, without even a slight utter of your tongue) sound the word "iam" (IN YOUR MIND ONLY)

Repeatedly concentrate on this sound in your mind... "iam"

(Do not wonder what this sound means "iam" This is not a word ... it has no meaning, do not try and give this sound any meaning. This is only a sound in your mind, like the sound of waves crashing on the rocks or the sound of the wind blowing through the leaves .... this sound has no meaning, it is meaningless)

If you find your mind drifting to thoughts ... acknowledge the thought and slowly bring your attention to this sound.

Let the sound of "iam" be the focus of your attention, for 15 to 20 minutes.

When finished, do not open your eyes immediately. Sit still for 2 to 3 minutes until you slowly bring your attention back to the surroundings and your thoughts.

Slowly open your eyes and slowly close it again ... do this 3 times.

You're done ... get up and hopefully you're relaxed.

I have a metod of relaxing that has not failed yet. It costs absolutely nothing, takes very little time and is very good for you. I call it 4x4. When you need to relax or de-stress quickly try this. Try this avy ways, its good for you. Breathe deep into your abdonem throuf\gh your lungs of course counting to 4. Now hold your breath for the count of 4. Breath out all the way to the count of four. Now hold your breath till the count of four and then repeat this 3 more times, having done it 4 times. Thats it, it is really that simple. You can do it more then 4 times for a real soothing experience

Put on either soft classical music or maybe just nature sounds such as water running, wind blowing whatever you can find. Lay down on the floor and close your eyes. first tense your feet as tight as possible, let go slowly, tense legs tight, slowly release, tense buttocks, then let go, tense stomach muscles and back, release, tense chest and upper back, relax, tense shoulders and arms, let go, tense fore arms, relax, tense hands and fingers, make a fist, relax, tense jaw, release, tense eyes and forehead, let go. If you make it through all this w/out falling asleep you will be very relaxed.

Breathe in through your nose for a count of 10
exhale through your mouth for a count of 10
Make sure your stomach rises and falls and NOT your chest.
