I like the showdown. They're impossible set ups in real world politics, but nice match ups for a hypothetical throwdown.

Let's take nuclear weapons out of the picture.

N. Korea would make short work of the US on the Korean Peninsila. That be done in days to 2 weeks. The US would have no way to engage the Chinese on land.

In Europe, simply the sheer press of numbers would win the day for the Russians, depending on whether they could overun Europe before they ran out of ammunition and replacement parts. It's possible they would, but the EU would just not have any way to hit back since they have miniscule military budgets.

Also, China and Russia could pressure the Middle Eastern countries not to supply the US with any more oil. Seing how America get's most of its oil from Russia and the Middle East, it would be running out of fuel and have to depend on the strategic energy reserve.

The US navy is better than the aging Russian fleet and Chinese fleet, and the British are okay too. SO the water would go to the US and EU. NORAD is also more than capable of defending the skies over N. America as long as we are banning nukes in the engagement.

Now the big strategic insight would be for the US to incinerate the old Soviet grain basket in the Ukraine that Russia would quickly recapture.

Now it comes down to whether the US runs out of fuel before the Russian, Chinese, and Koreans run out of food.

I l say China, Russia, and Korea. Mostly because the EU doesn't have so much to throw at the fight, and the US is too fuel dependant.

I have some differences with the best answer of course I think America and NATO (EU) would win without nuclear weapons. I agree Europe doesn't have much to bring to the fight, individually but this (dooms day) scenario I guess you would call would call for drastic measures drawing every European nation to fight together against Russia this forces (including reserves) is 3,051,000 soldiers that's is a very rough estimate based off some research from wiki on the militaries of Ukraine, Hungary, Romania, Slovakia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Denmark, Norway, Finland, UK, Spain, Italy and I think that's about it this very narrowly outnumbers Russia's 3,035,000 current manpower (including reserves) and the European countries are not counting the US troops that are deployed in bases their. So to say Russia would crush the EU is a joke. Plus Russia's military would be spread thin fighting in both the north in the Nordic countries and south in Greece and the center in Poland.

I don't think they would ever unite against the us and EU for many reasons. Russian chines relations isn't great Russia is more interested in building relations with the US and EU. Also there army is a major mess its seriously underfunded they have major problems with desertion and suicide with in the military.

China isn't interested in war they are economically power full although there military is still under founded and lacking offensive Ability china mainly concentrates on internal security more worried about a civil war than attacking anyone else. There best troops are used for defending the government and strategically important points around the country.

North Korea although they maybe in the news atm and everyone is worried about them they are unlikely to do anything they are building stronger trade relations with south Korea. they maybe in the news a lot because of there nukes but they are only using them 2 try and put America off attacking them.

As for other country's i see Iran mentioned here they are unlikely to unite in a war against the west America is now turning to Iran to help solve the problems in Iraq.

As for the US i think they have over extended them self's in Iraq and arnt about to try and start world war 3.

The EU is made up of lots of country's they wouldn't agree to start a global war together. Although they are building a euro military it will most likely only ever be used for peace keeping.

I would say China and North Korea and Russia would probably form an alliance due to old times sake.. Yet it depends on why the war was caused since past ties aren't very strong compare to the causes..


Parts of the country in EU would just back off unless needed, most of EU would probably side with the US...

But really, why would you even think of this war? This war would be absolutely disgusting, if I was President I would avoid war like this ever.
Our troops or any other troops (except maybe SOME government) aren't meant for wars like, they are here to DEFEND this country or their respective country and interests.. That is unless one country attacks another.
Yeah, I hate it when a man fights another man without a good reasonable cause. Like defending your wife from rape or murder etc. etc. etc...

If you ask me China has the largest airforce in the world...technology wise is kinda good and training s outstanding...North Korea has One of the largest armys...and Russia with the Brains...coz we all in INDIA also (not mentioned here but i am saying though ) use Russian technology..they are kinda good stuff..not that behind from US if you ask me...
