you usually have to use a really little flat head screw driver to pop the back of the watch off if there are no apparent screws to take out.

Fossil and Guess watches are supposed to be extremely difficult to change, and most jewelers won't change them for you because they take special tools that only the Fossil ppl keep (Fossil manufactures Guess). They would insist that you send the watch to the factory with the money for the new battery and probably return postage as well.

On the back of the watch, look for a small triangle or arrow pointing to the outer edge. Take a very small screwdriver and carefully pry the back cover open. The battery should be visible. Replace it, snap the back cover on, and you are finished.
If you are not sure, take it to an electronics store and they should do it for you.

I'd go to a jewelry shop and let them do it. Most places only charge for the battery and do the change for nothing. cheers

You turn the back of the watch counterclockwise. You may have to exert some downward pressure. Good luck.
