I have a picture saved in *.bmp format, but it looks too bright. How do i make it look darker? I am not a genius in computer, so can you tell me easier ways to achieve that result?

If you have photoshop or the like, you can adjust lightness to darkness or play with contrast..

If your using windows paint program there is no settings like that. The link below is for a 30 day photoshop trial.

Only thing I know is photoshop and the way you are talking, I'm assuming you don't have photoshop. But if you do, open it in photoshop, go to Image > Adust > Levels > then slide the left slider futher to the right until it looks like you want it.

I would play with the levels before contrast/brightness. But contrast/brightness is also found in Image > Adust.

Caution! Prints always look brighter when displayed on your computer! Printing is another matter.

If you want your pics darker, there are many easy programs to help. My fav for simple fixes is Adobe Photo Deluxe. Another one is Microsoft Picture It!. A free one for people with patience, is The Gimp. Go to downloads.com for programs to play with for free.

Important note: JPEG format takes less space and most websites accept this format. Including Kodak, Snapfish and Walmart.
