All the time you can get. Actually deer are most active in the wee hours of the morning (still up from the night) and right before dark. But don't let that deter you from hunting mid-day b/c while guys are on there way back to the truck for lunch they kick up deer along the way, so stay put and one may come across you. Happy hunting and happy holidays.

If your not a morning person.... the evening is better hunting for you hehehe. But on a serious note both are the best times as pointed out deer are on the move at these time frames. But being out there all day you still have a good chance... I've had some years where noon is the best time..

"dear" or DEER hunting? If you are hunting for a DEAR, go out to the clubs at night.
For DEER, I personally like to go out very early in the morning and get to my stand or the area I want to concentrate on before it gets light. However, when i go out, I am there till it gets dark again.

Studies have shown that the deer follow the rise and set of the moon. The best time to hunt is from 1 hour before moon rise to one hour after moon rise. Sometimes this may be in the morning, sometimes in the middle of the day, and sometimes it may be in the late afternoon. Something about the gravity of the moon triggers animals to feed, so that is when you will see them moving the most. Unlike the sun, the moon rises about 2 hours later each day. Here is a link to the Naval Observatory.

Just type in your county and the date and it will show you the sun and moon rise/set/transit times for any particular day you choose. .

dear hunting is best at night because the girls are waiting at the bars.

deer hunting is best in the morning when the deer are out foraging for food.

deer are not on the same hours as humans. they don't go home and go to bed because the sun goes down.deer will feed two or three times a day. they must have water and they will bed up. if you find where they are bedding and feeding and set up your ambush between the two you will have a good hunt all hours of the day. read your lunar tables for your best times to hunt. sometimes they are real close. good luck!

best time is early morning right after daylight and late evening right before dusk. if it is windy or hot, you may not see as many deer as you would when it is calm and cool. also if there has been a full moon in the past couple of days, the deer wont come out as early because they were up in the moonlight.

If your hunting for a "dear", I suggest evening. It's easier to get one at last call time.

I HAVE HAD MY BEST LUCK BETWEEN DAYBREAK AND 10 AM
ONE THING TO REMEMBER ABOUT HUNTING AT DUSK IS THE TIME IT TAKES TO FIELD DRESS AND DRAG THE DEER OUT OF THE WOODS
BETTER TO DO IT IN THE DAYLIGHT SO MORNINGS ARE BETTER FOR THE HUNTER ALSO
NOT SAYING IF I DIDNT SCORE ONE EARLY THAT I WOULD NOT BE OUT THERE IN THE EVENING
JUST A PREFERRENCE
