As some of the other posters said, the person needs medical attention right away. Elevating there head or feet will not affect the course of a stroke. The only thing that can save brain is immediate medical attention. A stroke is (usually) a lack of blood flow to a part of the brain, like a heart attack is the lack of blood flow to the heart muscle. The quicker a stroke is treated the more likely it is to save brain, and therefore the better the chance for a good recovery.

There is a simple three part test to see if someone has likely had a stroke. First, ask them to smile to see if one-half of their face is paralyzed. Second, ask them to raise both arms over their head. If they have weakness on one side, it is most likely a stroke. Third, ask them to put together a sentence. Again, if they cannot, it is most likely a stroke and 911 must be called with all of the information on what you have done.

From my own personal experinces I have had numerous tia's and then a year ago iIhad a mild stroke.My husband made sure I was lying on my back with my feet level and not propped up your head should be at a normal height as a pillow would give you.Hope this helps you in some way.
