Yes, I live on Kauai. I've been here 17 months and love it! Kauai is very slow-paced. Our biggest city is really a town -- it's called Lihue. Everything here is family-oriented and there isn't much nightlife. If I was younger and didn't have a child, I'd probably be bored here. As things are, Kauai is perfect for me! The average daily temperature year round is 78 degrees F, and though we get a lot of rain (it's the "Garden Isle") much of it occurs at night. Most activities are centered on the outdoors: camping, fishing, surfing, kayaking...even birthday parties, baby showers, and weddings are held in pavilions at the beach! Relaxing, slow-paced, and quiet. That's life on Kauai. Oh, and expensive!

Nope. My wife and I went to Hawaii on our honeymoon, but we didn't hit Kuaii. We did Oahu, the Big Island, Maui, and Molokai. Molokai was cool because it's so remote. At the time there was only one hotel on the whole island (not sure if that's still the case). The reason we went there was to take a mule ride down the mountains to Kalaupapa National Park, which was a leper colony started by Father Damien - a very cool experience.

KAUAI, Hawaii.
Yes, about five times on family vacations growing up. Poipu Beach area on south side of island great beaches and not wet like north side of island.
Awesome hiking in Waimea Canyon area on west side, and the Na Pali Coast on the northwest side of island.
I have not been to Kauai since '82 but don't think I'd go back to the Islands unless it was to Kauai. Love the greenery.

Kauai is so beautiful that I'll be moving there soon from the Island of Oahu. I have family there. So when are you travelling there again? Alot has changed since you were 2. More hotels and beautiful beaches.

Oahu and Maui are very commercial. Kauai is quite the opposite. It has lush green vegitation all over the place and the roosters roam free and wake you up very early in the morning.
