Why are all the Christians claiming he does not? The bible has several stories where he inflicts sickness, including Exodus, Job, etc.

Yes, one of the best example is AIDS. Sure, many innocent people have contracted it, which is sad. But just imagine if everyone lived a clean and moral life. Then AIDS would disappear. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying it's a punishment, but it is a big test. God loves tests.

The devil cannot affect us physically he doesn't have that power, all he can do is suggest and say "it's not that bad", or "everyone is doing it".

I'll put it this way to, If God didn't inflict sickness on people then there wouldn't be any sickness. Then, we wouldn't know the difference between sickness and health, nor would taking care of our bodies be important either.

God wants us to be happy and healthy, for that we also need to understand the opposite, and what to do to achieve it what we want. However I can't explain why innocent, non-deserving people fall ill. Only God himself can answer that, but he can't be blamed either.

Wrath Warbone has a very good point with this.

Not anymore but he used to do it all the time.

God inflicted disease on Adam & Eve and all their descendants when he booted them from the Garden. Read up all the nasty plagues God inflicted on Pharoh and his homies in the book of Exodous. If you can handle a real horror story check out what God did to Job to settle a bet with the devil.

But that was Old Testament stuff. God was a bit of a grouch in those days. Since the New Testament started God is love.

I believe - No, but often times sickness is the result of reaping what we have sown. If you drink and kill your liver you can't blame that on God. If you smoke and get cancer or heart disease you can't blame that on God. Sickness can also be the result of the simple fact that we are imperfect people with imperfect bodies. God does not inflict illness however, he will sometimes, hand us over to the Devil for a spell when we won't repent of sin.

We sometimes due to our actions walk out of the canopy of God's protection. The Bibles says that darkness and light cannot dwell together, so when we sin, we walk out of the light of God and obviously into the darkness of the devil. (please note that there is no in-between). The devil then inflicts us with all sorts of things including sickness. God sometimes allows it because it moves us to repent. .................. This is the principle that operates in the world. People often ask why there is so much destruction in the world when there is a God but in fact when man walks out of the protection of God and does not repent, it has a snow-balling effect and satan enslaves man to do more and more evil things. Hope this helps!!!

I agree with everyone else that we pretty much reap what we sow, however there are many exceptions like little children who get cancers and other child hood illnesses.I do know in the Bible Jesus healed lots of people and raised some from the dead.I've heard of many people getting healed from prayer and a nurse at a big hospital tell me that many of the Doctors pray for there patients.God loves us and sent his son to die for us he would never inflict sickness on us.

No! Clearly it is the devil which does. Read the story of Job and you will see that the devil ask permission from God to do those things to Job.. God does not put more on us than we are able to endure. The bible tells us that every good and perfect gift is from the Father so no He does not do it but may allow us to go through tests.

People inflict the illnesses and sickness upon themselves.
there is reasons for punishment but I don't be live that God does these things without reason.
If there is pain there is cause for the pain
First one must look within themselves before they cast outward glances.
Think before doing and be kind.
I don't know for certain.

The scripture says that anything is possible with God. I'm sure he will do what he please because he is God! To prove his point to Satan, he allowed Satan to afflict Job with boils. Some sickness comes upon us due to the sin that we commit. Some sickness come upon us because of a lack of knowledge when it comes down to protecting our environment first, so that we can be disease free. Some sickness comes upon us because we abuse our bodies with excessive drinking, smoking overeating and eating a lot of the wrong things. And of course we will die with something because sickness is connected with death! The immune system weakens as we gradually ages and it no longer fight as hard to rid sickness and diseases. There is multiple reasons why sickness comes upon us. It all begin with Adam and Eve when they disobeyed God in the Garden. If they would of obeyed God when he told them not to eat from the tree of life then maybe sickness wouldn't be in the world as of now. So the first Adam opened the door to sickness and the second Adam ( Jesus ) has a plan to do away with all sickness forever!
