I was so in love with one of my best friends and recently he told me that he liked one of our mutual friends. I was crushed but as he didn't know I liked him, we were still friends like normal and I even managed to keep my hopes high. Then recently our friend found out that he liked her, and now she likes him back too.

Well basically it's a matter of time that they start going out and everything. I don't regret not telling him because if I had, I'd look like such a fool now.

He's such a good friend to me and he makes me so so happy. I can't get my mind off him or the fact that now he's involved with someone else. But don't get me wrong, I'm glad he's found someone to make him happy. I just wish it was me, you know?

Any advice or thoughts on how I should handle this?

i admire the way u're happy that he's happy..thats one tough feelin to hold at times like these.. u know, as much as ive felt somethin like this, i'll never understand how u felt.. but i realized this: love makes us vulnerable.love hurts.. but thats the price we pay for being humans.. and love is not selfish.. if it's real love, than it would be thinkin more of the other person than of ourselves..i think u're already on the right track.. by letting him go, u're actually loving him.. its a tough reality for me too (in my own problem), u know.. but hey, let's go thru this together k.. keep lovin him..

There have been millions of similar situations like this. On the one hand, you can talk to him and come up front with it. You run the risk of being rejected and loosing the friendship, but how much longer can you secretly pine away for your best friend? The other shoe is going to drop. It's just a matter of time. He finds out, the mutal friend finds out, or you tell him.

Who knows what will happen if you don't come out with it?

continue to be happy for your friend. what would make me think is that if you would have said something would he go out with you because he felt sorry and still like the other girl. so may it's a great thing you did not say anything to him about your feeling. if he'd had liked you too as you do him do you think that he would have told you. it may be better this way because you still have a best friend!

You did it just right by not playing god in his life. Let him live, stay friends, and you never you, he may realize that what's he's really looking for is already there for him. If not, you have a friend for life - who can argue with that?

atleast u still have your dignity, and u must be glad u didn't tell him how u felt. maybe it will be u one day, we just have to be patient, and wait for what we want. just keep being his friend, and don't give up hope.
