Very interesting question. I was actually reading about htis last night. And for lack of better words you turn away you are screwed. The gift is free yes, everlasting life yes, but this is a relationship, it has to be maintained. You get saved or born again and turn away, then turn back, you are then shaming Christ, because He is again getting crusified AGAIN for your sins.

The Bible doesn't say anything about "once saved, always saved." It says that " he has endured to the end will be saved." Matt 24:13. 2 Peter 2:20-22, says that it would be better for one to have never come to an accurate knowledge of bible truth than to gain that knowledge and turn away from it. It compares it to a dog returning to his vomit, again becoming unclean. One must maintain their position before God, and although we make mistakes everyday, those who willfully do so without repenting and turning aside from their wrong course will not inherit everlasting life.

That gift that GOD has given you was not by chance, If GOD has
given you something it is because he chose to give it to you. He is not a liar nor the author of confusion, He will make sure that in due time you will see even if you think that you gave HIM up, GOD did not give you up nor will his WORD return unto him void.
So maybe you need to taste him and see that the LORD is good
and then, He will give you understanding of his will concerning your gift, and wisdom on how to use it, Knowledge to know Who he is and Why he wants you to make use of it. TO GOD BE THE GLORY GREAT THINGS HE HATH DONE!

Once you receive it, it cannot be reversed. However, when you receive salvation, instead of just being pushed into hell, you get the opportunity to be judged. I think that it is a good thing. Salvation is a ticket to heaven but you have to take the journey alone, whether you get there or not, matters on how you travel.

Some believe in once saved always saved. We receive Jesus by believing in our hearts and confessing with our month Him as Lord. It is a heart condition. If we receive Him that way isn't possible to reject Him the same way. It would seem very hard to contemplate, but think about it. Again it would have to be a heart condition

Well, they are Really making a bad choice!
They loose it. Salvation is being part of the bride of Christ. A bride may back out even 1 minute before the marriage.
Bible says " work on your salvation with fear and trembling"
So if it needs to be worked on to keep it, its not over. Being saved is the start. Staying saved is actually tougher!
Blessings
David

Those that wander away from the truth shall remain in the congregation of the dead
It would be better for them not to have known the truth than after knowing turning away from it
True God says no man can snatch you from His hand but he never said you couldnt jump out

I believe that - Once SAVED always saved. Once you are born again in spirit you are saved forever. It is the same as when we are born from our mother's womb. We can not become unborn again. We can't climb back into our mother's womb and get unborn. Once you're born you're born. Even if you die two seconds after you are born it doesn't change the fact that you were born. It is the same with being re-born in the spirit...once you're born you can't get unborn. Besides, no one would go back like that unless they weren't really saved in the first place.

You can't taste everlasting life before chucking it away.
It's like eating a buffet, digesting it,shiting it out and told to vomit all
the food back out.

This happens every day. They are called back sliders and we all fit in that category at times. We keep trying though and even if you reject God at some time in your life, you will always be welcomed back. God loves you.
