My mother just got remarried this past weekend. As usual, I didn't remember that etiquitte requires I give her something. i was in the wedding and had already spent a lot of money and don['t really have any to spare at the moment but I know I need to get them something. i would like to give them something special, but I need it to be inexpensive. The gift I wanted to get them was a ornament for their first christmas together, but someone else already did.
What else is a inexpensive gift that will have meaning behind it and they would keep or use for a long time?

I do not live with my mother and probably won't see her on Christmas so it must be something I can mail.

Oh...and I am twenty four with kids of my own. Thanks for asking....

How about a nice picture of her holding you dearly in her arms? Black and white shot in an old-looking frame (Dollar Store?) Now, I'm not a mother, but I am convinced it would warm her heart and brighten her X-mas. Happy thoughts from Canada (North Pole)

Everyone is suggesting pictures, which I think are lovely gifts, but why not add a twist to it? I am sure you took pictures at the wedding or have a close family member that did. Go to any drug store and use their photo center, get copies of the ones you like best. You can even brighten them up a little with features that an associate can help you with. You can crop, add hearts, frames, anything. Then sit down and do a kinda mini scrap book from you and your kids. You can send that in the mail and not have to worry about the glass breaking, as you would with a picture frame. Hope this helps!!

If you have some time, creativity and any skill with a needle, make some sort of sampler with their names and their wedding date on it. It doesn't have to be complicated--you could just stitch some beads on plain fabric and be done in a couple hours.

A picture frame that's wedding-themed. Many stores will have them, and some can be real nice. I saw one the other day, that was two ''rings'', and it said "With this ring, I thee wed".

have you ever tried interior of sight dress shops? For my purely right pal's wedding ceremony, we ended up hitting the dress shops 2 days before the marriage because her dress had no longer are available in yet! Eep! We got here upon a darling dress at a touch boutique keep. fortunately her dress got here the subsequent day, yet we got here upon an somewhat acceptable decision in a community area. that's purely right, because you'll locate something that you comprehend matches and also you received't ought to get altered in any respect. The drama occurring between your mom and your MIL sounds oh-so-relaxing. no longer! I agree that your MIL has been a touch handed over in words of with the flexibility to practice her own dress. i'd recommend you both insist your mom get an same coloration she has no to ward off conflict or in case you comprehend what your MIL is wearing, stumble on a dress which will supplement that dress and could no longer conflict? mom's get very stressful earlier to the marriage and sense like they ought to seem more effective than the different mom. Its a peculiar rivalry. i'd purely exhibit on your MIL your inner maximum apologies and there isn't any longer a lot else you may do. Then convince your mom that that's YOUR wedding ceremony and that you're feeling lower than pressure out. Its your day, honey, keep in mind that. good luck! Like I reported, attempt the interior of sight shops-- you'd be stunned what you locate. in case you deliver one from on-line and its no longer good, then you're lower back at sq. one. in case you stumble on a dress locally or in a interior of sight city, you comprehend you're set!!
