I know this is not what you want to hear, but when you are truly sick and tired of smoking you will stop. There is only one way to stop smoking and that is to simply stop. Ask your mother to help you ask her not to give you any more cigarettes no matter how much you beg.

I'm not trying to be judgemental as I am a an active smoker - it sucks!!

I don't think any thing will help. I have tried to quit smoking many times but just to go back smoking again. I once heard from an old man who manage to quit after 20 yrs of smoking. I asked him how.
What he did was not to give himself any excuse to pick up the cigarr. He told all his friends that he is quitting and if they are true friends they will help by not offering him any smoke, even if he ask. He make sure he told every one he knew and save up the money on cigerrs. So he mange to quit with his sheer determination. So if we want to quit, we would need to have that kind of determination. Else..nothing will work.

Stay away from you mother. Make her smoke outside. Just quit, I did, 15 years ago and I am not that tough. I only smoked 25 years. You can do it. ANyone can, if they want to. Just remember you are killing yourself.

Honestly, switch to a NEW addiction.
Maybe, gum.
Nicotine gum maybe.
Sometimes, you can just tell your mother not to and if she really cares, she'll try to stop.
Know about the effects.

Is she wanting to quit too? Make it a team effort. I asked my doctor for help, he suggested nicotine gum & gave me a perscription for Wellbutrin. Tomorrow's my quit day.

Accountability.

You need someone to help you stop, and the same person to assist you when you go crazy.

Tell your mom the cigarettes are $50 each, and you have to pay her.

When you figure it out can you tell me. There's a number you can call 1-800-NO-BUTTS. Try that it might help. When I work up enough nerve I'm going to call it.

keep dum-dum suckers around you at all times, when someone else is smoking, grab a sucker, it still gives you the hand to mouth feel without smoking.
