I do believe in God. I think believing in a higher being makes alot more sense than believing something just came out of no where. If that was the case, I would make a 50 dollar bill appear right in front of me right now. No matter fact, make that twenty, one hundred dollar bills. Where did that single cell come from? And where did the things that it came from, come from? Like I always say, science can only go so far. Plus I just feel in my heart creation is the truth. I have beyond plenty of reasons why too. It takes different and personal experiences for each person to see the truth. Fortunately, you and I already know it. :)

No its all been man made to brainwash society and for the chuches to get $$$ do a yahoo search on the works of Robert Ingersoll he was a philosopher from a hundred years ago thats a good place to start researching the bible and how it was written and feel free to think about these thought for yourself like Neo would say "free your mind" and also just look at the world and see the hate, bigotry, selflessness that religion is causing, not to mention war and killing all because the my God is better than your God attitide. I was a born again for 10 years Im glad I "broke free".

* irst, there is the question of whether something exists or not. A thing can exist whether we know it or not.
* Second, there is the question of whether we know it exists. (To answer this question affirmatively is to presuppose that the first question is answered affirmatively, of course; though a thing can exist without our knowing it, we cannot know it exists unless it exists.)
* Third, there is the question of whether we have a reason for our knowledge. We can know some things without being able to lead others to that knowledge by reasons. Many Christians think God's existence is like that.
* Fourth, there is the question of whether this reason, if it exists, amounts to a proof. Most reasons do not. Most of the reasons we give for what we believe amount to probabilities, not proofs. For instance, the building you sit in may collapse in one minute, but the reliability of the contractor and the construction materials is a good reason for thinking that very improbable.
* Fifth, if there is a proof, is it a scientific proof, a proof by the scientific method, i.e., by experiment, observation, and measurement? Philosophical proofs can be good proofs, but they do not have to be scientific proofs.

I believe we can answer yes to the first four of these questions about the existence of God but not to the fifth. God exists, we can know that, we can give reasons, and those reasons amount to proof, but not scientific proof, except in an unusually broad sense.

There are many arguments for God's existence, but most of them have the same logical structure, which is the basic structure of any deductive argument. First, there is a major premise, or general principle. Then, a minor premise states some particular data in our experience that come under that principle. Finally, the conclusion follows from applying the general principle to the particular case.

In each case the conclusion is that God exists, but the premises of the different arguments are different. The arguments are like roads, from different starting points, all aiming at the same goal of God. In subsequent essays we will explore the arguments from cause and effect, from conscience, from history, and from Pascal's Wager. The next essay explores the Argument from Design.

I'll be honest; it seems like around here a lot of people don't have any respect for other faiths that don't jive with their own. I am a professed agnostic (AKA I don't really have a clue), but I hold a great deal of respect for the devout of any faith. It must be an amazing feeling to be able to worship something based on faith alone; I simply don't have the right personality for it. I need to see some tangible evidence before I believe anything - I'm pretty cynical.

What I don't have respect for are the people who say "Wah, you can't prove it so you must be wrong becuase i'm cooler than you are." Guess what? You don't have any proof that you're right either. :-)

Of course there is a God and He is the only God. His name is YHWA which is the closest we can get to an actual interpretation from God's Holy Bible. He has a Son called Jesus and His Holy Spirit is with us always, well most of us anyway. There are people without a conscience and I believe that might be the presence of the Holy Spirit.

I enjoy the Reverse Pascal's Wager.

Pascal's Wager says that if there is a god, you're better off believing because the benefits are greater than if you don't believe and it happens to be true.

The Reverse Pascal's Wager says that you shouldn't specifically believe in any particular god, because if you're wrong then the real god would surely be more upset at you than if you didn't believe in a god at all.

Those who have asked you to present evidence of God's existence should themselves present evidence that God does not exist.
Let's see, who else believed in God?

Albert Einstein
Sir Isaac Newton
Blaise Pascal
Charles Darwin

Are not these recognized as great minds in history? I guess it is possible that those who do not believe are of a greater wisdom.

God is an excuse for the unknown. When we cant explain something we just say "god did it." Thats why I dont believe. The more we learn the less true religion becomes.

I believe there is a Higher Power. However I do not believe that the Judeo-Christian concept of "God" is the only correct interpretation.
