What is it to EVERYONE in the world, what religion someone is, whether is christian, jewish, buddhist, muslim, atheist, etc. Why is it that everyone believes that whatever THEY belive is the one and only answer. Can't people just ACCEPT others for their beliefs?
BTW, I'm kind of undecided between agnostic and atheist. But I don't go flonting around in peoples faces that "God doesn't exist" because how do I know? How do you know? How does ANYONE know?

You know, I've often thought that if people simply minded their own businesses and kept their personal beliefs private, the world would be a much better place. Believe what you want, just shut the hell up about it.
My position on God is that what you believe depends on how you want to arrive at your belief system. If you want to go on pure logic, your only choice is to be an agnostic. Neither theists nor atheists "know" whether God exists, so both are belief systems based on some kind of "feeling" or "intuition."
I personally am a philosophical agnostic - I understand and admit that we don't "know" whether there is a God. But I am also a theist at the same time - I "believe" in a higher power because of my own intuition, feelings, and what I think of as personal "evidence."
Good luck.

I understand your frustration, but it's not entirely true that people of every religion think that theirs is the only right one.
I cannot possibly think that.
The reason why I cannot possibly think that is that as a Pagan I look to the Natural world for an understanding of the Divine, and I notice that there is tremendous variety in every species.
There cannot, therefore, be only one right way to have a relationship with the Divine.
Saying that my way is the only right way....well, that would make as much sense as a water lily telling a desert daisy that putting it's roots down into sandy soil is NOT the right way; the only true way is to float on the surface of the water.
And from what I know of Buddhism, there is no claim there either that theirs is the only true way.

I quote Romans 1:20- For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities-his eternal power and divine nature--have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made,so that men are without excuse.
in other words, look around-this just didn't happen without a superior intellect.

It's true that this page is a bit of a sparring match but that's not a bad thing. One of the ways to test your understanding of what you think you believe it to try to argue the case for it and/or argue the case against the competing ideas. We're all anonymous here so don't take it personal.

Actually you know a man by his works....
If a person harms others justifying it with religious beliefs that religion has to be the wrong religion...Now I am not talking about making a person mad or hurting some ones feelings I am talking about actually hurting and killing....

right on, I'm with you.
As a Christian I know God, He does exist. I do accept the fact that not everyone agrees. I don't mind and have tolerance for those who don't agree. I just wish everyone would be more tolerant.

this other woman and myself met on questions and answers and she is one belief and i am another. well we are trading info on each others belief. we get into heavy discussions on it but never argue or fight. i think it is just pure silly to think that yours is the one and only true belief and then push it on someone else. i believe and she believes and each are different and interesting and each of us are satisfied with what we believe. and i hope that we two can have a long and lasting friendship. merry christmas.

It's true that if you want to look at a religion, don't look at its followers but look at the religion by studying it. Islamic belief regarding tolerance is the greatest i've ever come across. Don't look at the actions of the Muslims who may be ignorant but read the texts in the Qur'an and the Hadith that says that stay peaceful and tolerant with those of other faith and be not a trouble maker unless they cause you trouble!

We cannot get along in a human nature without Christ. As for God I am 100% sure He exists. He is with me right now.

We are all humans created equal, with different
opinions. If we could just talk about them and
share our differences then we could all get
along but the problem is some humans think
that their way is the right way and then the
trouble starts.
