reason why i'm asking is because my roommate was borrowing my car tonight and i gave him my debit card to put gas in while he was out and he brought back the credit card receipt (without the details on what was purchased) that showed the amount of 50 some odd dollars. i don't think my car can even take $50 worth of gas but he says that's all he bought with it, gas.

the receipt he brought me was just the total amount but no details on what was purchased. will my statement tell me? or does it just show the merchant and the amount? my car only takes like $30 of gas at the most. i don't care about the $20 but i do care if he is lying to me and if i can't trust him.

you will only see the merchant and the amount. he is obviously lying and not to be trusted with your debit card. if you want to keep loaning it to him, thats your choice. i certainly wouldn't. in fact just the fact that he lied to you should be enough to not even consider him a friend. who needs friends like that?

It depends on where it was purchased. Sometimes there is more detail than others. Most of the time the credit card statement only shows the amount and place where the purchase was made. If you have doubts, you can contest the charges from your credit card company and ask for a copy of the signed sales receipt.

usually the statements just show where the debit took place, and how much. You could maybe call the gas station and ask them if they have a detailed receipt for the transaction.

call your mastercard employer and immeditately dispute that $three hundred cost. do not wait or believe the web employer provides you with a credit. they could drag it out for 6 to eight weeks and also you would then be previous the 60 days to dispute the cost with your mastercard employer. continually go on your mastercard employer first!
