You have to be you , and communicate this person won't know you dont' like something if you keep quiet. Be polite about what ever it is but say how you feel. Of course use your judgement if they bought you something to be sweet and its not your style. just graciously accept it with a thank you. and dont' tell them you hate it. Use your judgement depending on the situation
