nanny tv show!?

i was flippin thru the channels and ran across the tv show the nanny,and i gotta tell ya, america is getn bad! so who out their needs a nanny to tell them how to make their kids behave? a good ol fasioned butt whoopin does the trick,at leased it did for me! i know its just a show but come on,these people are just plain clueless on how to raise their kids,whats this world coming too! i know in some states including mine,that if you spank your kid at the grocery store for misbehaving,and someone sees you and they think it wasnt necessary,they can report you to the authorities and they can have your kids takin away,thats B.S.! DONT TELL ME THAT I CANT DISCIPLINE MY KIDS!

RIGHT ON!!! I agree with you 100%!! All this time-out stuff has never worked, and it never will. I don't like people telling me I can't spank my boys, especially when they need it. I don't mind when people want to help out, especially older people; they know more than I do about raising children, so I allow them to help me out, but these people who have more book learning than child rearing need to keep their mouths shut.

In my state (CT), I just heard this year that we can spank our children, we just can't leave marks on them in the process. I make it a point to NEVER spank my children when I'm angry at them, so I never leave marks on them.

I even spanked my son in front of a cop once, and looked up at him and dared him to say anything; he didn't. When the older generations are gone, and the younger ones are in control, we will see what will happen to this world.

Kids need to be taught right from wrong, and sometimes it calls for a swat, not a beating. I have watched that show to and if my kids were that obnoxious i would advertise it.Makes you wonder who is the parent.
