My hair is thick, frizzy, wavy in some places and straight in others.
Should I perm it?

If you have it done professionally, and you stipulate a "loose curl" perm this will help get your frizz under control and will help your curls look more balanced.

But, please, do not try this at home. You could just end up with a thicker, frizzier mess if you don't know what you're doing.

I have done this multiple times over my life. I have really fine, frizzy hair which is naturally curly, but the curls go every which way except NICE. I use it to control the curl and give some sort of style to them, when my hair is long. When it's short (which it is right now), I just mess the curls up with my fingers and let them do their thing.

Okay, here's the thing. My hair used to be that way, but after I went to a pro they told me a few things. #1. I probably will hate it even more after it's permed. #2. If your not happy with yourself now, you may not be after a perm either-it's not always the perfect idea. #3. Do NOT wash your hair every day if it is constantly frizzy. Get a pro line of shampoos and conditioners. And maybe even some frizz-ease serum and then on'y wash your hair every three days. Frizzy, thick hair tends to dry out really easily. You need the natural oils in the scalp and washing strips them away. #4. I'm NOT saying don't shower. You can wet your hair and condition it, wash yourself [no stinky people are happy] but be gentle with your hair. Love you hair.

Perming normally makes hair more frizzy. Unless it's a straight perm, which aren't easy to get right. A good hairstylist who works with hair like yours should be able to recommend a straightening or curling method that will work for you. You might try wearing rollers with damp (not dripping wet) hair and a bit of product on them...by morning you might have a nice wave...but I can't see your hair so ask your stylist!

Thick frizzy and wavy straight? NO Don't. No offense but you'll look like a chia pet..Find products to help maintain the frizz and wavs. Also try cutting a bit off .. to let the straight parts get wavy. If you're looking to get straight hair..although a lil pricey a japanese straighner is the best.. ask you're hairstylist about it..

If you do, I'll hunt you down like Kerabo and skin you alive.
My hair's the same. Rather put relaxer in it and have a professional cut and style it for you. That's what I'm doing this week. God help me. Good luck.

No,not if it's wavy in places. You will wind up looking like
Ronald McDonald.Trust me,I made that mistake already.

Get a good curl relaxer if you want less frizz and manageability.

only if you're older than 40. then people will expect that from you (to not be in touch with fashion.) perms are long gone from the thing to do. don't do it.
