I am the girl, and currently weigh 172 pounds, and would like to get to 107 pounds.

My boyfriend says it's a bad idea to aim for that, especially since I have anemia and hypoglycemia.

I just found a random website to calculate "ideal" weight, and it seems to indicate that you should aim for somewhere between 125 and 164 pounds.

Personally, I believe that if you can be objective about your body as you try to lose weight, you will know when you've reached the best weight. I originally thought I wanted to lose 20 pounds, but my body just felt right after losing only 13 pounds.

Otherwise, I would suggest seeking a doctor's advice.

Best wishes.

Honestly, I think it's perfectly fine for a teenage girl, that is 5'8" or in between and weighs 172 pounds. I figure you are tall, and your athletic muscles might give in to your weight...if that isn't the case, then you must be slightly chunky....not to freak out about, but to seriously think about...Now 107 is NOT an ideal weight plan, for a girl suffering of anemia and hypoglycemia, such as yourself (my sincere concerns:) I will leave your weight as it is, and concentrate more on life, the beauty of it, and the rollercoaster rides life brings into a teenager's life....Besides, you have romance ahead of you, sweetie. A boyfriend caring deeply about you, is something you will surely feel lucky about...hu?....if you need to talk more, or confide about your obsessions..please contact me, I'm Diane your Future Doctor...*wink* at Mmrmovado@aol.com...and we'll discuss your concerns...in the meantime, may God Bless You.

An average girl 16 is 5' 4" weighing 118 lbs, that makes you at least 10 pounds underweight. So no, not so healthy. Please check the weight chart link below, This is a fact not an opinion. Cheers.

Yeah, 107 sounds a little sickly to me.
I say I30 sounds like a healthier goal, and you likely wont be able to get much more boyond that unless you really torture and deny yourself.
Skinny really is declining in popularity amongst many people.
Many people really do prefer a healthy looking girl with good proportions.
Proportions are generally more important than weight.

As long as you eat reasonable and regular meals that arent overprocessed and contain things like enzymes, probiotics and fresh nutrients, you ought to equal out to a healthy weight on your own.
Not to mention, the way you eat now will effect how your body maintains and supports itself later in life., with the two conditions you mentioned, it's probably going to be more important for you then most other people.
Listen to your boyfriend, he's probably just trying to tell you what is best for you :)

Stop worrying about the scale. Just exercise and follow a -healthy- diet, eat LOTS of fruits and vegys with lean meats (stay away from prepackaged anything) and drink lots of water. You'll find in time that you don't need to lose as much weight as you thought. Let the mirror be your guide, whatever wieght makes you feel and look healthy (not skinny) is the right wieght. This is not bad for your conditions either, since it will only make you healthier.

You'll find healthier ways to live and the weight will adjust accordingly.

107 may be unrealistic. Not even attractive really.

And 16 is a weird age, anyway. I would start looking at your lifestyle and health habits, but 172 isn't a crisis by any means.

107 is not generally a healthy weight for someone your height. Since you have anemia and hypoglycemia you should definitely consult with your doctor before beginning any weight loss and exercise program.

Im just guessing but i bet you dont eat a big breakfast right? if you dont then i have a golden tip for you. the most healthy way to lose weight is to eat a big breakfast as you will burn it all off throughout the day and it will make you automatically eat less in the evening when you wouldnt burn it off. IM SERIOUS try this tip. research it if you want. IT WORKS and it is an extremely healthy way to lose weight.

PS 107 is deffinately too small dear. just try my tip and whatever weight it takes you to is probably the most healthy for you.

A girl your height should weigh more than 107. At 16, I weighed 105, was 5'4, and very skinny. For your height, depending on your build, you should weigh around 115 to 120. In my opinion, anyway.

Yes, it is a bad idea and it's pretty irresponsible. You are not actually very overweight if at all. You only need to lose 20lb and you will look great. Why you think you need to be severely underweight is anyone's guess. Just be realistic, listen to your bf and do this the healthy way. Take care : )
