During my study of theology, I have changed my views.
Mistranslation through the years has changed much meaning in the bible, it is a different book than the one it started from.

It has reinforced my beliefs.

As you study the bible academically, you acquire a greater understanding of the geography, culture, politics and technology of the time. That, in turn, has given the bible greater credibility. It simply fits.

The challenge is that many people who claim to have studied it "academically" were either studying it with an agenda, or were taught by professors with the same agenda.

Please remember that "open-mindedness" goes more than one way.

It helps tremendously to understand the historic context of the people of the times. I've been reading W. Cleon Skousen's "Thousand Year" series off and on, and it sure helps de-mystify some of the Bible language and helps in making connections where things seem to be repeating themselves in a slightly different way.

~~~Snl ,,,That it is indeed Plagiarized Material from several 'philosophies' which pre-existed in the same region of the World. Most prominently from Zoroastrianism, Mithraism, Gnosticism, etc, etc, etc, ,,, and like all of the Organized Religions of Man, the Elements of Truth which haven't been edited, revised and rewritten are hidden,(ie;occult), in the Lost Symbolism, Allegories and Iconography,,,etc,etc.

It helped me understand the concept of the authors' intents and gave me the rational ability to understand it for myself, instead of relying on someone else's interpretation of what it says. Ultimately, it reinforced my belief in Deism.

Heaven grows sweeter every day. I love to read about my Lord, and am able to experience Him now. But I am looking forward to seeing Him face to face. He is real and I know it.
