Just ask them directly/no going around the subject. They will appreciate it more.

Do what I did. Go get it done and come home and show them. LOL....I did do that with my tattoos and my piercings, but then again my parents are very open to things like that. You probably should ask them if they even like them or what they think about them. If they say that they have no problem with it, then you should just ask them directly. Also explain to them that with a lip ring you can take it out whenever you want. It isn't a tattoo so don't worry about the permanent. You might have a little hole like me, but it's not big deal.

Research the piercing; that means the procedure, aftercare, risks and potential problems. Tell your parents you will take care of it and have them talk with a piercer to clear up any concerns they have.

Don't pierce it yourself, don't have a friend pierce it and don't try to hide it from your parents. All of those choices are not only stupid, but disrespectful and potentially dangerous.

Knowing parents, they'll say no. I suggest you just wait until you are older and if you still want it, you'll be more excited and more happy getting it.

a sneaky way is to go out with your parents or watch some tv with your parents and find a good looking person with the lip ring and say sarcastically, "hey, he/she looks cute with that lip ring! i wonder how i would look with it" and if they give a look or are silent, move on. then sometime later on when you feel comfortable and step up and ask them.

if you want it really bad just have a sit down chat with mom and dad dont try to get one or the other to just say yes talk to both of them at the same time and let them know that you really want to have your lip pierced and tell them the reason why you want it done and just have a nice talk about it... Before had ask them thier thoughts on pericings before you ask them to take you and get yours done first hand just to see what kind of response you might get from them..

It dependes on how old you are if your 14 and under dont ask yet but if your 15 and up ask for it but in a respecful manner. You have to show them how respomsible you are and that you can take care of it! Have fun.

If you have to ask a bunch of strangers BEFORE you ask them lets me know:

a) you're not mature enough for one
b) you're not old enough for one
c) YOU DON'T NEED ONE!

Forget about it till you are LEGALLY old enuf to make that dumb a decisoon on your own and are responsible enuf to deal w/the responsibilities that come with putting holes in your body that weren't meant ti be ther in the first place.

Get a non pierced ring and show them what it would look like on you.

I agree with 18. If you're asking here how to ask your parents, that means they won't like very much.

You know that because you asked here.
